Beautiful vintage Mexican velvet landscape painting, dating to approximately the late 1960s–1970s.

Hand painted on rich teal velvet, this piece features a peaceful woodland waterfall scene surrounded by deep green, golden yellow and earthy foliage. The painting is finished in a fantastic hand-carved wooden frame with bold geometric detailing that gives it plenty of rustic character.

The original wooden stretcher is stamped “MEXICO” on the reverse.

A great vintage statement piece for a cabin, lodge, cottage, Western, rustic or Field & Stream-inspired space. The saturated colors and carved wood frame give it that unmistakable 1970s feel.
